Three (3) Guard members compose a competitive line; likewise, Two (2) or more majorettes will be judged as a line. Feature Twirlers will be judged separately from the line. A single majorette will be considered “Feature” automatically. We will also award Most Entertaining Band, Best High Brass, Best Low Brass, Best Woodwind Section, Outstanding Soloist, High Music, and High Marching Score. Caption scores determine High Marching and Music awards. A combination of G.E. score and judges’ vote determine Most Entertaining Band. Best Woodwinds, Brass, and Outstanding soloists are determined by vote of the Band judges.
Included in the contest packages will be a complete contest recap, judges’ sheets, a complimentary press box video and mp3 of your band’s performance, and a disk of complimentary digital photographs. A sample of the contest recap is available on the contest website link above. Judges' recordings and the mp3 of your show will be posted to a Dropbox link for download by Sunday, October 4th. This will make it possible for you to share this information with your students more readily in the classroom, and will allow everyone associated with your band program the opportunity to listen on their own at your discretion.
Concessions will be available throughout the day. We will have an abundant director’s hospitality room and a catered dinner for the directors during the dinner break. We will also have on-site First-Aid facilities staffed by local emergency and medical personnel. Please remember that LMI is a fundraiser for the Alexander City Band Boosters. Your patronage of our concession stand is greatly appreciated and encouraged. Please encourage your parents and students to fully participate in the fundraising portion of our event by their patronage.
There is a non-refundable entry fee of $100. The deadline for registration, including fees, pictures, and program information, is Monday, September 21.
