Contest Overview:
The Lake Martin Invitational Web Page has links to all contest information, registration, maps, scoresheets, recaps from previous years, directions and more!
We will award Superior Performance and “Best-in-Class” in the following captions: Band, Percussion, Drum Major, Guard, Majorette (Feature/Line), and Dance Line. Three (3) Guard members compose a competitive line; likewise, Two (2) or more majorettes will be judged as a line. Feature Twirlers will be judged separately from the line. A single majorette will be considered “Feature” automatically. We will also award Most Entertaining Band, Best High Brass, Best Low Brass, Best Woodwind Section, Best Pit, Outstanding Soloist, High Music, and High Marching Score. Caption scores determine High Marching and Music awards. A combination of G.E. score and judges’ vote determine Most Entertaining Band. Best Woodwinds, Brass, and Outstanding soloists are determined by vote of the Band judges.
Classification is as follows (Count Winds Only):
Class A up to 20
Class AA 21-40
Class AAA 41-70
Class AAAA 71-95
Open Class 96 and up
Scoring will be as follows:
Music /Routines 50 points
Marching/Technique 30 points
General Effect 20 points
85-100 (Class A 80-100) Superior Rating I
70-84.9 (Class A 70-79.9) Excellent II
69.9 or Less Good III
